A) In the 1920s and 1930s, for example, men wore formal evening suits, and bow ties. Women used to wear long dresses, beads around their necks and headbands, often with feathers in them.

B) In the 1940s, the fashion for women was dresses, or skirts and blouses. For men, it was suits or jackets, with very bright and colourful ties. Women usually put their hair up in a bun.
1950s
C) The 1950s was the decade of rock 'n' roll. Men wore drainpipe trousers and check jackets, and they greased their hair. Women wore tight sweaters and flared skirts, and they wore pony tails.

D) With the 1960s came The Beatles, the drugs culture, and flower power. Men and women began to dress in the same way, in loose clothes, with sandals on their feet and flowers in their hair.

E) In the 1970s, the fashion was punk. Both men and women had strange haircuts with bright colours. They wore torn jeans, leather and even safety pins. It was very usual for men and women to have tattoos in their arms.

F) In the 1980s and 1990s we have a mixture of styles. People wore what they wanted to wear, and not what fashion dictated.
G) Nowadays, people also wear what they want. However, girls normally wear large belts, diadems and bracelets and men normally wear jeans, sweatshirts and trainers.
